You know your family’s needs and you might have some additional considerations that you want to be prepared for for example are there extra personal medications that need to be available in the car? We have been caught off guard in the past when someone forgot to pack their medication for a road trip. No need to worry about that again if you can have a special spot in your Safety Kit that holds medication as a backup as appropriate.

Don’t forget to also include sunscreen. We prefer a spray container but getting what works best for your family is the key to a customized safety kit.

You will also want to include things like mosquito wipes or even the Fantastic new BugBiteThing If you have a child that is as attractive to mosquitoes as my son is.  I will never forget the time their grandfather took them fishing and he came back with so many mosquito bites I found myself looking up symptoms of the Zika virus.  If there is a mosquito within 50 yards that bug will find my youngest child. Having mosquito wipes and this easy-to-use suction tool helps a ton!

Also in your safety kit don’t forget generic over-the-counter painkillers to help with unexpected headaches, aches, and pains. You can also add additional Ace bandages and first aid tape to your kit.
